Memorial golf tournament accelerates answers to cancer

To further answers to cancer and honor the memory of their beloved son, husband, father, brother and friend, the family of Ryan Gordon will hold the annual Ryan Gordon Memorial Golf Tournament and Silent Auction this coming Saturday.

Everyone is encouraged to register to golf, participate in the auction and attend the highly successful event. All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to The Hormel Institute University of Minnesota to fund innovative cancer research. To date, over $46,000 has been donated since 2013.

The tournament is hosted by Cedar River Country Club in Adams as a four-person best shot with a shotgun start at noon. The tournament will be followed by a silent auction and dinner, starting at approximately 3 p.m.

Ryan Gordon, an Adams native,  died in 2011 from stomach cancer. Ryan was an avid golfer and his parents, Roger and Shirley, and brother, Chad, created the tournament in 2013 to support cancer research while playing the game Ryan was so passionate about.

Tournament details

Cost for the tournament is $50 per player, which includes dinner following golf. A dinner only option is also available for $12. Cart fees are extra, and teams are encouraged to register early to ensure availability. Register by calling the Pro Shop at 507-582-3595.
