JoAnn Stella (Wolf) Holgate, 87, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

JoAnn was born April 13, 1932, in Stacyville, Iowa, to Albert and Katherine (Snyder) Wolf. She was baptized at Visitation Catholic Church.

JoAnn married Richard Holgate on Oct. 7, 1950. They enjoyed 69 ½ years of marriage. Together they had six children, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

JoAnn enjoyed gardening, reading, volunteering with church, the Red Cross, and Sacred Heart Care Center. She loved attending all of the grandchildren’s events.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; sons, Bruce (Jean) Holgate, Mike (Marykaye) Holgate, Brian (Julie) Holgate and Thomas Holgate; daughters, Nadine Holgate and Alyssa Phillips; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Raul Silva officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mayer Funeral Home. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com.
