Jane Taylor Academy of Dance wrapping up a busy season

The Jane Taylor Academy of Dance will hold their 55th annual recital at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Austin High School’s Knowlton Auditorium.

Tickets are $9 and will be sold at the door. All proceeds from the flower sale will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

This past season, the Jane Taylor dancers competed at competitions and were awarded the following: first place High Score Overall and second place High Score overall  Senior Division Trio (Joseph, Levi and Nathan Seeman) and first place high score overall, eighth place overall, and twelfth place overall Senior Solo Division (Siri Ansorge); second place high score overall and third place high score overall Senior Division Duet (Jacy Hansen and Levi Seeman); second place high score overall and fifth place high score overall teen division large group (Senior and Junior Company Tap); second place high score overall and seventh place high score overall senior small group division (Senior Company Jazz); second high overall Line Group Lyrical (Senior, Junior, Performing Company Lyrical); sixth place overall Senior Solo Division (Jacy Hansen); ninth overall high score Senior Solo Division (Lauren Riskedahl); 10th high place overall Teen Solo Division (Molly Berglund); ninth and 10th place high score overall Teen Solo Division (Ashley Augustin); ninth place high score overall in Teen Division (Junior Company).

Special Awards were given to Senior and Junior Company Tap “Havin’ Good Times” and “Knock Your Socks Off;” Senior Company Jazz “Workin’ It Out;” Jacy Hansen and Levi Seeman “Cute and Tasteful;” Siri Ansore “Fluidity and Flow.”

Joseph Seeman was awarded a Power Pak Scholarship Award and Ashley Augustin was awarded a Power Pak both at Starpower. In addition the dancers were awarded seven platinum awards, 16 high gold awards, one gold award. Starpower scored on a scale of five stars, Jane Taylor Academy of Dance dancers were awarded the following: three routines had five stars, seven routines scored four and three-fourths stars. Trilogy scored on a scale of four stars, Jane Taylor Academy of Dance dancers were awarded the following: two routines scored two stars, one routine scored three stars.   

Students that competed included: Joseph Seeman, Levi Seeman, Jacy Hansen, Lauren Riskedahl, Molly Berglund, Ashley Augustin, Siri Ansorge Kaitlyn Riskedahl, Emma Haugen, Rachel Engelstad, Bianca Herrera, Chelsey Collins, Nathan Seeman, Zara Ansorge, Carys Clinefelter, Megan Dilley-Jones, Callie Hillman, Jocelyn Voth, Namo Afanou and Emma Stanley.
