Duane “Duey” Vogel, 64, of Warsaw, Missouri, formerly of Dexter, Minnesota, died Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.

Duane Allan Vogel was born July 11, 1954, in Austin, Minnesota, to John and Carol (Ellis) Vogel. He grew up in New Ulm, Minnesota, graduating from New Ulm Cathedral High School and later Mankato State University. He spent five years in the U.S. Navy and the remainder of his life as an entrepreneur. He was married to and later divorced from Roberta “Bobbi” Westfall, with whom he had three children: Eric, Chris and Breanne. He owned and operated the Oasis Bar and Grill in Dexter with his brother, Chip, and later a campground in Missouri with his brother, Don. Duey loved the water; fishing, skiing, and body surfing all brought him joy when done with those he loved. He will be remembered for his kindness, intelligence and love of laughter.

Duey is survived by his children, Eric (Hannah) Vogel of Mayer, Minnesota, Chris (Brianne Aeikens) Vogel of Mayer and Breanne Vogel of Kasson, Minnesota; siblings, Don Vogel of Warsaw, JoAnn (Terry) Anderson of Branson, Missouri, Jan Darling of Rochester, Minnesota, Jaye Vogel of Lake City, Minnesota, Judy (Jay) Kulstad of Tampa, Florida, Doug (Kim) Vogel of Adams, Minnesota, and Denny Vogel of Shakopee, Minnesota; and his former wife, Bobbi Vogel of Kasson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Chip Vogel.

A memorial prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at St. Finbarr Catholic Church in Grand Meadow, Minnesota, with Father Swaminatha officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow, with a rosary being recited at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
