Democrats holding forum tonight at senior center

In an effort to win back support in the area, the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party will be holding a forum at 7 p.m. tonight at the Mower County Senior Center.

The forum, “Expanding the Democratic Vote in the Rural Midwest,” will focus on strategies to win back support in Mower County and southeastern Minnesota.

Those strategies include winning back farmers and other rural voters. Democrat activists and candidates from across the First Congressional District will attend the forum.

The featured speaker will be J.D. Scholten, Democratic candidate in Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District who nearly defeated incumbent Steve King in 2018.

Additional speakers include 2018 DFL First Congressional District candidate Dan Feehan, Rep. Jeanne Poppe, 27B, and Terry Morrow, Nicollet County Commissioner representing Commissioner Second District in Nicollet County.
