David O. Wenzel, 77, lost his battle to cancer on Friday, May 3, 2019, at the Methodist Hospital.

He was born Oct. 13, 1941, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Otto “Shaky” and Erna Wenzel. He graduated from Austin High School in 1959. He graduated from Mankato State University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business.

David is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Kari (Thomas Cantrell), Blairsville, Georgia; son, Todd (Kelley), Canton, Georgia; grandchildren, Owen and Chloe Wenzel; sister, Judy DeYoung, Austin, Minnesota; brother, Rod Wenzel, Austin; sister-in-law, Joan Wenzel, Fargo, North Dakota; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerome and Lavonne Landherr, Adams, Minnesota; and nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Warren; sister Arlene; brothers-in-law, Corlos Hartwig, Don DeYoung and Bob Borchard; and niece, Deborah Schammel.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, Minnesota, with the Rev. Anjanette Bandel officiating.
