The Canoemobile Community Day event, originally scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, has been cancelled. Organizers cited the forecast of heavy rain and severe weather as the reason for the cancellation.

The Canoemobile program, run by staff of the nonprofit Wilderness Inquiry, has spent the past week taking fourth, fifth, and sixth graders out on the Cedar River State Water Trail above the Ramsey Dam.

The program was done in conjunction with the “We Are Water MN.” exhibit at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center.
