The No. 3 seeded Blooming Prairie softball team edged out No. 2 Hayfield 2-1 in Hayfield in a Section 1A West Tournament game Wednesday.

Riauna Bishop struck out seven as she allowed zero earned runs in the circle for the Awesome Blossoms (9-10 overall). Bobbie Bruns blasted a two-run double to give BP the lead for good in the fourth inning.

Caitlyn Hendrickson struck out nine for Hayfield (12-9 overall).

BP will take on top-seeded WEM in Todd Park at 5 p.m. Thursday and Hayfield will play No. 5 seeded Lyle-Pacelli in an elimination game in Todd Park at 5 p.m. Thursday.
