The Austin boys tennis team opened its season up with a 7-1 loss to Fairmont on the road Monday.

Cam Krueger and Ryan Walters picked up a win for the Packers (0-1 overall) when they topped Fairmont’s Evan Carlson and Thomas Klanrud in the No. 1 doubles match.

“It was a good match today,” Austin head coach Jeff Anderson said. “Half of our varsity had never played a varsity match before today. We will learn and improve.”
