Man pleads guilty to heroin sales
Aaron Douglas Lau, 22, of Austin pleaded guilty to felony third-degree drugs-sale of narcotic as part of a plea agreement on Thursday in Mower County District Court. He initially pleaded not guilty on Dec. 20.
Court documents state an Austin detective met with a confidential reliable informant (CRI) to make a controlled heroin buy from Lau on Sept. 13. The CRI and his vehicle were searched and he was provided with buy money and an audio transmitter. The CRI was then monitored as he met with Lau in Austin and purchased heroin from him.
The CRI then met with police at a predetermined location and surrendered 0.65 grams of heroin.
Lau will be sentenced on June 21.
