The Blooming Prairie softball team beat Janseville-Waldorf-Pemberton 6-2 in its season opener on the road Friday.

Riana Bishop struck out nine to pick up the win for the Awesome Blossoms (1-0 overall).

“Our team played solid defense and made important plays during high-stakes situations,” BP head coach Jenna Volgarino said.
