Best Bets: A weekend to celebrate the Easter season; Tracking eggs, visiting vendors

There are several opportunities to celebrate Easter coming up this weekend.

Annual Easter Event and Egg Hunt

Westminster Presbyterian Church will be hosting it annual Easter Event and Egg Hunt from 9-10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

This free event will feature entertainment by magician Jim Jayes and snacks in a carnival setting. There will also be a telling of the Easter story.

Make sure to bring your Easter basket for the Easter egg hunt following the story. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Third Vending Event

The Salvation Army will give shoppers an opportunity to pick up Easter gifts during the third annual Vending Event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Holiday Inn Austin Conference Center.

This year will feature over 30 vendors.

Items for sale include Color Street, homemade pillows, homemade candy/treats, balloon gifts, gift baskets, Thirty-One, Scentsy, Elevacity, Pampered Chef, homemade crafts, hand sewn items, Tastefully Simple, handmade earrings, baked goods, personalized clothing items, homemade wall decor, Tupperware, homemade jewelry, homemade bath items and more.

Bring your friends and enjoy a morning of shopping; there is something for everyone.

Kids’ Studio – Easter Mobiles

Gabriella Alba and Alondra Vaszquez will teach kids how to make Easter mobiles from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Austin ArtWorks Center.

The class costs $5 per student and is designed for ages 4-14. The class will be conducted in English and Spanish.

20th Annual Free Community Easter Ham Dinner

Christ Episcopal Church will host its 20th annual Free Community Easter Ham Dinner from noon to 1 p.m. on Sunday.
