More street improvement hearings, pickleball updates on council agenda

The Austin City Council will be holding more public hearings on street improvement assessments during its next regular meeting.

The council will hear assessments for:

• 14th Street Southeast, assessed amount of $97,607.49 at five percent for 15 years;

• Ninth Street Southwest, 10th Street Southwest and 11th Street Southwest, assessed amount of $218,046.62 at five percent for 15 years;

• Sixth Street Northwest and 11th Avenue Northwest, assessed amount of $214,615.20 at five percent for 15 years; and

• Oakland Place Southeast, assessed amount of $13,423.43 at five percent for 15 years.

The council will also hold a hearing for street improvements on Sixth Street Northeast and set an assessment hearing for April 1.

The council will vote on setting the annual storm water public meeting for 2 p.m. on April 27 at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center.

Parks and Recreation Director Kim Underwood will update the council on a grant for pickleball courts during the work session following the meeting.

Administrative Services Director Tom Dankert will also review the Library Fund and General Fund during the work session.

The council’s next regular meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18, in the City Council Chambers located in the basement of City Hall. The work session will take place in the conference room across the hall immediately following the meeting.
