Lee Michael Dority, 65, of Austin, Minnesota, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019.

Lee was born Jan. 14, 1954, and grew up in Mason City, Iowa, with his brothers, Dale and Ted.

Lee was a wonderful father to his five children, Chad, Jason, Seth, Brock and Echo Dority. He was also a great dad to so many more.  He was also blessed with an amazing grandson, Dylan Dority.

He had a special place in his heart for his Legion Rider Brothers and everyone who came into his life.

Out of high school, Lee entered the U.S. Marine Corps. Lee started his younger days becoming a professional auctioneer and used to fly airplanes; he loved both. He really enjoyed being part of the Austin American Legion Riders Club. He looked forward to getting his motorcycle out each and every spring and hitting the road. He also enjoyed getting his boat out and fishing in the summer. Lee owned his own semi-truck for 40 years; the last company he was with hauled product for Hormel.

Lee was an avid read; he loved books and history. Woodworking was also a passion for Lee. He was a lover of animals and the highlight of his day was coming home to spoil his dogs! He enjoyed playing guitar and messing around on his harmonica. He also became excellent at “Cowboy Cooking” with all of his cast iron pans and recipes. The thing that sparked the most joy in Lee’s life was the day-to-day conversations he would have with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vendel (Bud) Dority; his mother, Bertha Dority; and his brother, Dale Dority.
