Slippery road conditions caused a school bus to slide off a gravel road early Wednesday morning.

According to KAAL-TV6, eight students and the driver were on the bus when the vehicle slid off the gravel road.

John Alberts, executive director of educational services, said that the district was notified from Palmer Bus Services (the company that Austin Public Schools contracts out transportation services) that a school bus did slide off the road and stated that no one was injured.

“Nobody was hurt,” Alberts said. “From my understanding, the kids were transported and their parents picked them up and took them to school.”

The Austin Daily Herald reached out to Palmer Bus Services, but the company declined to comment further on the incident.
