Best Bets: Answer trivia, feed school kids

Do you like trivia? Do you want to use your trivia knowledge to benefit the community? If you answered yes to either, the Hormel Historic Home has an event for you.

The HHH will host this year’s Austin Rotary Trivia Night from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 30.

Teams of eight people will compete in answering trivia questions. Hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available

Participants can also bid on silent auction items. Bidding will start at 6 p.m. with trivia starting at 7 p.m.

All proceeds raised will go towards the Austin Public Schools’ Lunch Tray Project, which works to help families that miss qualifying for free and reduced lunches by matching donors to families by funding some or all of their school lunch cost.

Shamrockin’ Run 5K and 1 Mile

Pacelli Catholic Schools will be holding their annual Shamrockin’s Run 5K and 1 Mile on Saturday, March 30.

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. and the run begins at 2 p.m.

Registration forms are online at https://runsignup.com/Race/70886/Sponsor/125577 or at Pacelli High School. Race packets will be available for pick up from 4:30-6 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at Pacelli High School.

Awards will be given after the race to the top three finishers per age group. B&J Bar and Grill will host a post-race party.

• Shoe Away Hunger Shoe Drive, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Various Locations. This program turns pairs of new or gently used shoes into up to a week’s worth of essential groceries for one person. Any type shoe in any condition, as well as socks, can be donated at the following locations: Bethlehem Free Methodist Church, Faith Evangelical Free Church, Mower County 4-H Building at the Mower County Fairgrounds, Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Sterling Main Street, St. John’s Lutheran Church (Mon. to Fri. from 9 a.m. to noon), as well as First Baptist Church in Blooming Prairie and Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams. Sponsored by the Rock Solid 4-H Club.

• Second Floor Gallery Youth Art Show, 11 a.m. at the Austin ArtWorks Center. Celebrating the artwork of students from Banfield, Neveln, Southgate and Sumner Elementary Schools.
