Planning has started for this year Fourth Avenue Fest to be held on Wednesday, June 12.

The pool will be free from 6-8 p.m.

Email newsletter signup

A season swim pass is $40 for per person.  The pool will open at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 10.  Save the date for the free family fun night on Friday, July 26.

Warming houses closed

Our warming houses have closed for the season and the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center has also stopped renting skies and snow shoes so maybe this is a sign that spring is on the way.

Online registration

Our online summer registration will open up on April 1 for Park & Recreation and Jay C. Hormel Nature Center programs.  Riley Donovan, our Recreation Supervisor, will be starting a new program called Rolling Rec.  We will post on Facebook the details on which Friday afternoons the Rolling Rec van will show up at a neighborhood park near you.  This is a free program offering fun games to play when Rolling Rec shows up.

Master plan

We would like to invite you to fill out a survey for the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center as we are working on a master plan for the center.  This can be found at www.hormelnaturecenter.org and on the homepage click the master plan survey button.  Thank you very much.

Summer brochure

Our summer brochure can be reviewed on the city website so you can start your planning.  Hard copies will come home with children from school the last Friday in March.

Reminder: we have online registration starting April 1 at cityofapr.maxgalaxy.net or on the city web site at www.ci.austin.mn.us.

Learn to Play Hockey

The next session of Learn to Play Hockey is scheduled for April 10, 17, 24 and May 1.

This class is geared for those 3 to 8-years-old and is held from 6-6:45 p.m. at Riverside Arena. Cost is $25.

Equipment can be leased with a cash deposit of $75. Supplies are limited and you must supply your own mouth guard.

Please call Riley at 507-433-1881 if you have any questions.
