Two arrested in Saturday morning traffic stop; One wanted on two felony warrants

Two individuals were arrested during a traffic stop on Saturday in Austin.

Brandon Lee Moseng, 24

According to Austin Police Capt. David McKichan, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 12:05 a.m. on Saturday in the 1800 block of First Avenue Southeast. There were four occupants in the vehicle, including Brandon Lee Moseng, 24, of Austin, who was wanted on two felony warrants for probation violations on two prior felony fifth-degree drug possession convictions.

Moseng was arrested and the officer recovered drug paraphernalia on his person, McKichan said. A K9 was brought to the scene to sniff through the vehicle and six narcotic pills and a six-shot Derringer revolver were uncovered.

Alys Lind Carlson, 32

Police arrested another occupant, Alys Lind Carlson, 32, of Austin,who was in possession of the revolver, for not having a firearm carry permit, according to McKichan. Police ran the revolver’s serial number, which came back as having been stolen out of Laredo, Texas.

Carlson was charged with gross misdemeanor carrying a pistol without a permit on Monday in Mower County District Court.
