Steven Wayne Blaser, 60

Steven Wayne Blaser, 60, of Mankato, Minnesota, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, peacefully joined his brother Terry and the Lord in Heaven on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester.

Steve was born March 22, 1958, in Austin to Clifford and Jerri Blaser. He attended school in Austin, graduating in 1976. He then joined the workforce at OTC in Owatonna, Minnesota. He later returned to school and received degrees in nursing and auto mechanics, in which he was gainfully employed for years.

In 1978, Steven was united in marriage to Kim Howe and blessed with the birth of three sons. The couple later divorced. On Oct. 21, 1996, he was united in marriage to Brenda Fae Hammero. Along with her four children, the couple set sail on an adventure of a lifetime. The couple relocated to Waseca, Minnesota, to join the Itron Co. and together welcomed a son to this world.

Steve’s interests included yearly trips to Mexico, Florida, camping, and grilling anything. He took great pride in his workmanship, work ethic, his yard, and his beloved Mustang he affectionately named “Don’t Touch It.” He and Brenda worked tirelessly to set up and entertain in their backyard, which they dubbed “their own little campground,” and welcomed any and all whenever able.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Blaser.

Steve is survived by his wife, Brenda Blaser of Mankato; parents, Clifford and Jerri Blaser of Austin; children, Jason (Trisha) Blaser of Austin, Gregory (Tiffany) Blaser of Rochester, Minnesota, Joshua (Rachel) Blaser of Austin, Carter (Sydney) Blaser of Waseca, Bradley Boysen of Austin, Brandon Boysen of Austin and Joshua (Hilary) Pedersen of Hamstead, North Carolina; grandchildren, McKenzi, Kaleb, Ryleigh, Tegin, Ezra, Ella, Gemma, Emma, Oakley, Conner, Ashton, Marek, Isaiah, Addie, Max and Tucker; sisters and brother-in-law, Pam and Larry Kramer of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and Patsy Fontes of Austin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernest and Marlene Hammero of Austin; sisters-in-law, Penny (Rick) Schoenthaler and Jill (Don) Edstrom; brother-in-law, Marc (Pam) Hammero; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Dennis Tamke officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home.
