Red hot Packers win sixth straight game

The Austin girls hockey team closed out its regular season by winning its sixth straight game when it beat Red Wing (7-16-2 overall, 6-8-1 Big Nine) 5-3 on the road Saturday.
Jordyn McCormack recorded her second straight hat trick for the Packers (10-13-1 overall, 6-11-1 Big Nine). McCormack, a junior, has 16 goals and three hat tricks during the win streak.
Kylie Hanlon and Kate Holtz also scored a goal each in the win.
Five of Austin’s wins during the six-game streak have come against teams it lost to in the first half of the season.
The Packers are the No. 4 seed and they will host No. 5 Albert Lea in a Section 1A quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
