Northfield artist Tom Willis is mixing things up a bit in his pottery studio with a new venture in producing tableware through slip casting.

Slip casting, in its most basic form, is “pourable clay” that is added to plaster molds that solidifies to produce beautiful stoneware.

Willis’ pottery exhibit will be held at the Northfield Arts Guild Feb. 15 through March 16, with an artist reception from 7-9 p.m. on Feb. 22, with a 7:30 p.m. artist talk.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and culture heritage fund.
