Police followed the trail to a garage at a residence across the street from the victim’s home and made contact with a 22-year-old male party at the residence. As officers were talking to the man they observed blood on his shoes as well as dried blood on his hands.

The subject was taken into custody and a search warrant obtained. The safe was later found in the garage, the contents of which were unknown.

A woman leaving at the house that was broken in was at home at the time of the break-in but didn’t hear anything or notice the break-in afterwards.
