Hayfield boys clinch a share of the Gopher Conference title

The Hayfield boys basketball team clinched a share of the Gopher Conference title in its first year in the conference when they beat Maple River (7-17 overall, 3-10 Gopher) 63-55 on the road Friday.
The Vikings trailed by 11 at halftime, but Mason Tapp hit four of his first three-pointers after halftime en route to scoring 18 of his 24 points in the second half.
“We had better post defense in the second half and Mason caught fire,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said.
