Blossoms sneak past Randolph

The No. 8 seeded Blooming Prairie girls basketball team beat No. 9 Randolph (14-12 overall) 37-35 in a Section 1A opener in BP Thursday.
BP (13-9 overall) trailed by as many as four points in the second half, but the Awesome Blossoms were able to bounce back. Bobbie Bruns had four points in the last five minutes and Maggie Bruns knocked down two free throws in the last minute for BP.
“Both teams battled exceptionally hard in this game and it could have gone either way,” BP head coach John Bruns said. “I was very proud of how the girls stayed together even when things weren’t going great.”
BP will now take on No. 1 Grand Meadow in Mayo Civic Center at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
