The No. 5 seeded Blooming Prairie boys basketball team knocked off No. 12 Goodhue (7-20 overall) 69-53 in a Section 1A Tournament opener in BP Thursday.

Gabe Hagen had 16 points for the Awesome Blossoms.

The Awesome Blossoms (18-6 overall) will now take on No. 4 Hayfield at 7:30 p.m. in Mayo Civic Center in Rochester Tuesday.
