The Austin girls basketball team closed out its regular season with an 87-64 win over Owatonna (8-17 overall) in Ove Berven Gym Saturday.

Kyra Walters poured in 19 points for the Packers (17-8 overall, 16-6 Big Nine) and Erica Lundberg added 16.

This is the first time Austin has finished the regular season with a winning record since the 2015-2016 season and it is the most regular season wins Austin has had in a season since the 2007-2008 season, when the Packers went to the Minnesota Class AAA State Tournament.

The Packers finished fourth in the Big Nine and have the No. 4 seed in the Section 1AAA Tournament. Austin will host No. 5 Faribault at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
