The Mower County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information that could lead to the recovery of a stolen 100-pound gas tank.

According to Mower County Chief Deputy Mark May, a woman from Riceville, Iowa, called the MCSO on Tuesday to report the tank missing. She said she had dropped it off at 7 a.m. on Friday at the BP Gas Station located at 400 West Main St. in LeRoy to have it filled up by gas station employees. When she came to get the tank on Saturday, it was missing.

The woman said there are no identifiable marks on the gas tank. She valued the tank at $120.
