Two vehicles collided at an uncontrolled intersection on Wednesday, causing one vehicle to veer into a residence.

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, the accident was reported at 10:10 a.m. on Wednesday and occurred at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Sixth Street Southwest. A Chrysler Concorde heading east on Eighth Avenue Southwest and a 2003 Toyota Highlander heading south on Sixth Street Southwest struck each other in the intersection, causing the Chrysler to veer into a residence on the southeast corner in the 600 block of Eighth Avenue Southwest.

The vehicle went through a chain-link fence and struck the front concrete stairs, causing them to slide a few feet. Some minor damage was done to the siding of the house. The homeowner, who was home at the time, was uninjured.

Both drivers told police they were going about 20 miles per hour when the accident occurred.

The driver of the Toyota, Ethan Greeley Dulitz, 20, of Austin was cited for not having insurance, Krueger said.

A 21-year-old female passenger in the Toyota complained of shoulder pain, but declined medical assistance.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
