The Austin wrestling team finished 12th out of 20 teams at the freshman state qualifier in Jackson County Central High School Saturday.

Austin sent seven freshmen to the meet and Lathan Wilson and Aguilera Lemus advanced to the freshman state meet. Wilson went 3-0 with two pins and a tech fall to take first at 138 and Aguilera Lemus won 3-1 in the wrestle back to earn a spot in state at 189.
