Jammey Marie Schick, 44, of Millville was charged on Wednesday in Mower County District Court with felony theft-take/use/transfer movable property without consent, misdemeanor trespass and misdemeanor driving after revocation of her license.

According to the court complaint, an officer was dispatched at 11:50 a.m. on Monday to the Austin Walmart regarding a theft and trespassing incident. The officer spoke to an asset protection associate, who reported that Schick had pushed a shopping cart full of items out of the door without paying. She was confronted by a Walmart employee, who asked to see her receipt. Schick was uncooperative and continued walking out of the store, claiming her “husband” had the receipt and was at the customer service desk. When asked to return to the store to get the matter resolved, Schick abandoned the cart and drove away in a white van.

The asset protection associate said she knew Schick from previous theft-related contacts at Walmart and that Schick had been trespassed from the store, the complaint states. The officer also learned that Schick’s driver’s license status was revoked.

In all, the cart contained $568.36 worth of merchandise, according to the complaint.
