Austin Cotillion Dance Club

Beautiful Christmas decorations adorned the Austin Country Club during our dance on Dec. 4. A delicious dinner and dancing to the Barry Rush Band contributed to a festive and enjoyable evening for our members and guests.

We were pleased to welcome Mike Hyland, Susan Poulson and Ione McClellan as new Cotillion members. Tom and Sue Bowers were guests for the evening.

Duplicate Bridge

Eleven teams played duplicate bridge on Dec. 4.

First place, Gail and Ray Schmidt; second place, Jim Fisher and Ron Peters; third place, Judy Bungum and Dave Solomonson; fourth place, Joyce Crowe and Lorraine Quinlivan; fifth place, Barb Engebretson and Orrin Roisen.

Nine teams played on Dec. 5

First place, Dave Ring and Orrin Roisen; second place, Loren Cleland and Bud Higgins; third place, Larry Crowe and Jim Fisher; fourth place, Edna Knobbe and Lorraine Quinlivan; fifth place, Gail and Ray Schmidt.

Both sessions are played weekly at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin. Players come from Adams, Austin, Albert Lea, Rose Creek, Mason Cit, Iowa and Northwood, Iowa.
