Myrna Jessie Helen (Ohm) (Pater) Boe, 93

Myrna Jessie Helen (Ohm) (Pater) Boe, 93, passed away on Dec. 18, 2018, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minnesota.

Myrna was born on Sept. 24, 1925, in Eden Valley Township, Renville County, Sherwood, North Dakota, the daughter of Henry and Ella (Revo) Ohm.

In 1938, at the age of 12, she moved with her family to Minnesota and lived in the Waltham and Hayfield areas. She graduated from Hayfield High School in 1943. On Nov. 6, 1943, she married Staff Sgt. Gerhart (Ted) Pater and they lived in Staten Island, New York, for a brief time, before returning to the Waltham area. On Nov. 20, 1967, Ted passed away. On Sept. 20, 1969, she married Philip Boe and they moved to Hayfield. Phil passed away June 4, 1998.

Myrna was active in her church and community, serving on the Hayfield Ambulance for 12 years and working at Citizens State Bank and Vernon and Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, doing crafts, quilting and gardening. She enjoyed traveling, going to Colombia in South America with Jeaneen’s family, to Europe several times to visit Joleen and her family, and visiting with children in various states. Most of all Myrna enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Myrna is survived by her five children, Larry (Carolyn) Pater of Champaign, Illinois, Jeaneen (Don) Wilhelmi of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Lowell (Michaela) Pater of Corpus Christi, Texas, Bradley (Joan) Pater of Hayfield and Joleen Pater of Poynton, England; grandchildren, Derek Pater of San Jose, California, Anna (Pablo) Palchizaca of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, Nathan (Jessica) Wilhelmi of Rochester, Minnesota, Katie (Gabe) Christenson, Rochester, Rachel Stickland of Gex, France, and Christopher Stickland of Poynton; five great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Zachary and Ryan Wilhelmi and Faith and Jace Christenson; three step-great-grandchildren, Isaac, Madison and Hannah VanRavenhorst; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ted and Phil; and sister, Esther Boysen.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 First Street SE in Hayfield with the Rev. Paul Hauschild officiating. Visitation will be from 3–5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 Second Street NW in Hayfield and for one hour before the service on Sunday at the church.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
