The Hayfield girls basketball team ended Lyle-Pacelli’s 10-game winning streak as the Vikings picked up a 46-43 win to take first place in their Holiday Tournament in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (5-6 overall) committed two turnovers in the last minute while trying to hold onto a one-point lead, but LP (10-3 overall) couldn’t convert those miscues into scores.

Hayfield trailed by eight late in the first half when Emma Holst, who had 18 points, hit four straight threes to cut that deficit to one point at the break.

“Emma kept us in the game when we were struggling,” Hayfield co-head coach Kasey Krekling said.
