Carol Ann Elizabeth Colee, 76, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.

Carol was born on March 20, 1942, in San Francisco, California, to Edgar and Doris (LaPointe) Stromberg. She graduated in 1960 from Cubberley High School in Palo Alto, California. On March 7, 1964, Carol married Keith Colee in Reno, Nevada, and was blessed with a son, Eddie. After

Keith’s retirement from the Navy, the couple settled in Blooming Prairie. Carol had various jobs over the years, including at PCA/Farm Credit from 1975 through 1988, First Prairie Bank, U.S. Bank, Security Bank in Claremont, Minnesota, and Steele County Recorder’s Office, retiring in April 2005. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie, where she taught CCD classes for over 20 years. Carol loved to camp, play cards, watch TV, go out to eat and shopping with her lady friends, and loved her cats. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sister, Anne Askew of Santa Cruz, California; and her beloved nieces, nephews, cousin, and Keith’s family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Doris Stromberg; husband, Keith Colee, in 2009; son, Eddie Colee, in 1984; stepson, Kenneth in 2008; and two sisters, Diane and Doris.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with Father Thomas Niehaus officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. A CCW Rosary service will be held at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in Blooming Prairie City Cemetery in Blooming Prairie. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Steele County Humane Society, Blooming Prairie Cancer Group, the St. Columbanus Faith Formation or homeless vets.
