Austin man charged with selling narcotics; Allegedly sold heroin to informant

Aaron Douglas Lau, 21, of Austin was charged on Wednesday in Mower County District Court with felony third-degree drugs-sale of narcotic.

According to the court complaint, an Austin detective met with a confidential reliable informant (CRI) to make a controlled heroin buy from Lau on Sept. 13. The CRI and his vehicle were searched and he was provided with buy money and an audio transmitter. The CRI was then monitored as he met with Lau in Austin and purchased heroin from him. The CRI then met with police at a predetermined location and surrendered 0.65 grams of heroin.

Lau was arrested without incident during a traffic stop at 5:58 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger.

Lau will appear in court again on Dec. 20.
