With Veterans Day falling on Sunday this year, local groups are letting the people of Austin know about a few activities going on.

At noon this  year, churches in Austin will begin ringing their bells 21 times. Normally the bells ring at 11 a.m. to mark when the Armistice was signed, but organizers didn’t want it to get confused with the normal ringing of church bells.

At 3:30 p.m. that afternoon a flag retiring ceremony will be held at the Austin VFW and is open to anybody who like to attend.

At 5 p.m. there will be a Veterans Supper at the VFW.
