Robert (Buck) John Buchanan, 64, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at his home.

Buck was born March 24, 1954, in Austin to Duane and Violet (Smith) Buchanan. He grew up in Oakland, Minnesota, and attended Oakland Grade School and Austin High School. In 1986, he married Barbara Bacon. They lived and raised their family in the Stewartville and Racine, Minnesota, area for 25 years. After they divorced, Buck moved back to the Austin Area.

Buck loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding. He enjoyed watching stock car and drag racing and he liked playing cards, cooking and grilling out.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Violet Buchanan; sister, Sally Magnuson; great-niece, Rhianna Schilling; and cousin, Bonnie Lenz.

Buck is survived by his daughter, Cassie (Dustin) Solomon, Stewartville, Minnesota; his son, Cody Buchanan, Rochester, Minnesota; brother, Duane (Joan Baker) Buchanan, Jr., Lake City, Minnesota; sisters, Rosemary (David) Lestrud, Loveland, Colorado, and Penny (Wayne) Elsner, Sheboygan, Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Burton Magnuson, Austin; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Michael Olmsted officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Oakland.
