Mavis A. Madson, 90

She was born March 28, 1928, in Austin, the daughter of Palmer and Anna (Weber) Johnson. She grew up on a farm southeast of Austin. She married Edward Uhlis and they had a daughter, Patricia, and later divorced. She then married Duane Madson who was the love of her life. They adopted Patricia’s twin daughters, Marcia and Lisa, and raised them as their children. Outside of the home, Mavis worked at Fox Candy & Catalog Company for over 40 years and then at McDonalds for 15 years before retiring.

Mavis enjoyed collecting bells, playing golf with friends, traveling to California and Arizona, reading, trips to the casino and hosting family reunions. At holiday gatherings, she would eventually burst out speaking Norwegian that nobody could understand and the holiday celebration would begin.
