Approximately $200,000 in damage caused in tractor fire

No injuries were reported after a tractor was damaged in a fire Friday afternoon.
According to Mower County Senior Sgt. Investigator Steve Sandvik, Mower County deputies and members of the Grand Meadow police and fire departments responded to a call of a tractor fire at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at 710th Avenue and 210th Street in Clayton Township.
A 2011 Case IH Magnum 4×4 Model 315 tractor caught fire while towing a grain cart in a field. The driver told first responders he saw smoke coming from under the cab and got out just before the tractor was engulfed in a “large fireball.”
Grand Meadow firefighters extinguished the fire. Damage to the tractor and the grain cart were estimated at about $200,000.
