The No. 6 seeded Hayfield football team had its season come to an end when it lost to No. 3 Rushford-Peterson (7-3 overall) 54-13 in the Section 1A quarterfinals Tuesday.

The Vikings took an early 7-0 lead when Brady Nelson hit Patrick Towey for a 25-yard TD pass in the first quarter.

Nelson hit Noah Klocke for a 14-yard TD to bring Hayfield (3-6 overall) within 48-13 late in the game.
