On Aug. 9, 1969, she was united in marriage to Craig Patterson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. God blessed their marriage with two daughters, Julie and Kimberly.

Ramona worked at the FSA office in Austin for 18 years.  She and her husband farmed together by Carpenter, Iowa, for many years.

Ramona was best known for her love of life and the big smile she always had on her face. She was young at heart and found no reason to act her age. She had a generous heart and loved to spoil her family. She found joy in working outside, tending to her flowers and lawn, as well as creating a cozy and beautiful home. She was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a hand no matter how big or small. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. Mostly, she loved being with her family and watching them grow. She had an infectious laugh that lit up the room.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Douglas John.

She is survived by her husband, Craig; two daughters, Julie (Christian) Paulson of San Tan Valley, Arizona, and Kimberly (Kent) Karschnik of Mountain Lake, Minnesota; and six grandchildren, Autumn, Bryce, Adam, Alex, Ashely and Andre.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville, Iowa, with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Visitation was held from 4-6 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Burial will be in Woodbury Cemetery in Lyle.
