Get to Know: Southland’s Tyler Jax

Tyler Jax is a senior football player for Southland. The Rebels will open the Section 1A quarterfinals when they host Fillmore Central at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Q: What sports do you compete in?

A: Football and baseball.

Q: How did you originally get into football?

A: I always enjoyed it as a kid and I wanted to be with my friends playing football.

Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?

A: When I got my first interception and everyone tackled me cause they were so excited about it.

Q: What have you learned from sports?

A: That it takes everyone to make a team not just one person

Q: What is the hardest part about sports?

A: Being dedicated all the time for it and not putting the little things aside.

Q: How do you keep your focus when competing?

A: Forgetting about the mistakes and keep moving on to the next play.

Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?

A: Jack Koenigs because he taught me how important working out is to all sports.

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?

A: Gold Rush.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Math.

Q: What is your dream job?

A: To be a cattle hauler.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Spaghetti.

Q: What are your plans after high school?

A: Go to college for something agriculture related.

Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?

A: I just enjoy being on the farm.

Q: If you could have one super power, what would it be?

A: To be super strong.
