Carol Ramona Cummings, 79, of Owatonna, Minnesota, went to be with our Lord on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Carol Ramona Cummings, 79

She was born Dec. 8, 1938, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Alvin H. Ulland and Evelyn Swenson. Carol attended Austin High School and then Austin Community College, where she obtained her degree in nursing. She was a dedicated nurse at the Owatonna Hospital for 20 years. On Dec. 15, 1956, Carol married her high school sweetheart, John Owen Cummings. For over 50 years they shared a passion for the game of bridge – a game that became a binding force in their marriage. She found great success and held the title of Diamond Life Master. Through her local friends and the greater bridge community, Carol developed her deepest friendships; they would become a great comfort to her after John’s passing. Carol was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by sons, Lynn (Jeanne) Cummings of Houston, Texas, Bill (Janice) Cummings of Monticello, Minnesota, and Clark (Cindy) Cummings of Midland, Michigan; grandchildren, James (Erin) Cummings, Stephanie (Tobi) Odejimi, Brandon, Logan, Wesley, and Caden Cummings, and Julianna and Eleanor Cummings; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Cummings; sister, Elaine Sievers; brother, Donald (Marlys) Ulland; brother-in-law, Nathan Goodwin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
