Austin cross country team advances three to state

The Austin cross country team had three individual runners qualify for the state meet at the Section 1AA meet in Owatonna Thursday.

Senior Abby Lewis qualified for the fifth state meet of her varsity career as she finished in 15th place — edging out Owatonna’s Carsyn Brady by four seconds for the last individual qualifying spot.

Meti Omod, an Austin junior, took third to qualify for his first ever state meet and Henry senior Henry Hinchcliffe took 11th to qualify for his second state meet.
