Richard A. Kruse, 61, of McIntire, Iowa, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.

Richard was born Jan. 29, 1957, in Osage, Iowa, to Paul and LaVerna (Rawson) Kruse.

He graduated from Riceville High School in 1975 and married Connie Shane on Jan. 7, 1984, in Adams, Minnesota.

Richard enjoyed farming and tractor pulling. He liked playing cards with friends and family and Monopoly on snowy winter days. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and LaVerna; brother, Tom; infant son, Matthew; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Ruth Shane.

Richard is survived by his wife of 34 years, Connie Kruse; children, Tiffany (Jamie) Stevenson, Heather (Toby) Mills, Cole Kruse and Cory Kruse; grandchildren, Emma, Sidney, Ashlyn, Taryn, Lily, Loren, Kaitlyn, Regan and Jewel; brothers, Jerry, Jim, and Robert (Sherry); sister, Mary (Mike) Olson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at Sacred Heart Oratory in Meyer, Iowa, with Monsignor John Hemann officiating.  There will be a Rosary at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at the Sacred Heart Oratory, where friends may call from 4-8 p.m. There will be visitation for one hour on Monday before the service. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meyer, Iowa.  Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
