Harold Peter Sibenaller, 72, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at his home.

He was born Jan. 22, 1946, in Carroll County, Iowa, the son of John Peter and Phyllis (Hansman) Sibenaller. Following his graduation from Kuemper High School in Carroll, Iowa, Harold attended a vo-tech for two years. He worked in grocery stores in Carroll, Sioux City, Iowa, and Des Moines, Iowa. Harold proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, serving two tours in Vietnam as a medic. Upon to moving to Austin in 1991, Harold continued his career in the grocery business as manager of Cash Wise Foods. In 1994, he relocated to Faribault where he went to work for IFP, Inc. On April 18, 1997, Harold was united in marriage to Virginia Ege in Austin. Together they purchased a semi and Harold finished his working years driving cross-country for Taylor Trucking, retiring in 2012 at the age of 65. Harold and Virginia enjoyed spending their winters for the past 20 years in South Padre Island, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia of Austin; a brother, Dennis (Rose) Sibenaller of Carroll; sister-in-law, Wendy Sibenaller of Carroll; niece, Ashley; and nephews, Austin, Grant, and Logan. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, LeRoy and Leo Sibenaller.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Austin with Father James Steffes officiating. Burial with military honors by American Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216 will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Friday at the church, immediately preceding the Mass.
