GRAND MEADOW — Put Grand Meadow senior Jordyn Glynn on a volleyball court and she’ll be able to contribute in all aspects of the game.

That’s been the case for Glynn for most of this season and that was the case again when the Superlarks

(14-6 overall, 6-1 SEC) beat Schaeffer Academy (3-10 overall) by scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-12 in GM Tuesday.

Glynn, a big-time hitter who has filled in as a second setter for GM, racked up eight kills, 21 set assists and 10 digs as GM won for the 10th time in its last 12 matches.

“I was setting when I was in eighth grade. It’s kind of nice to get back into it again. It’s a good change,” Glynn said. “We’re kind of starting off slow [in matches this year], but once we get into our groove, we’re doing really good. Once we get into our system, we can pound balls and it’s nice to see that.”

GM co-head coach Alex Peterson said Glynn has fit in well by playing multiple roles this season.

“Jordyn’s an athletic, versatile player and she’s in more of a setting role than she has been in the past,” Peterson said. “She’s still very strong on serve receive and defense, but with her athleticism and versatility we felt we she could take on a setting role this year. She’s still hitting too and she’s a very well-rounded athlete.”

GM junior Riley Queensland racked up 15 kills on Tuesday and she senior hitter Kaitlyn Hilton added 10 kills. Queensland said that Glynn’s presence makes things easier for everyone on the court.

“It’s fun. I like playing with Jordyn and she’s been doing really well at her positions,” Queensland said. “She’s been a really good asset to our team. I have a lot of trust in her. She’s so experienced and we’ve been playing together for such a long time.”
