Gaye Edstrom (also known as “GG”), 82, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, and formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away from the effects of two strokes on Sept. 1, 2018.

She was born on Nov. 8, 1935.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hiram; her mother, Edna; five brothers and sisters; and her husband, Roy who passed away in 2010 after 53 years of marriage.

She is survived by Keith (Deb), Ken (Jeanne), Jeff (Sue), Don (Jill), Colleen (Rick), Mat (Leslie); 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Gaye dedicated her life to cherishing children, especially babies and small children, her own and those around her. She and Roy raised their children in Austin where she planted irises, encouraged her kids to study music and eventually co-founded Apple Lane day care center. For 30 years Gaye and Roy owned a cabin on a small lake in Ottertail County where everyone was welcomed. Our annual family reunions were populated by over 30 people and mom beamed when she could be with all the members of her family or with a single grandchild.
