Eldred “Butch” Clarence Mayzlik, 90, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Our House Memory Care in Austin.

Eldred was born in Lansing, Minnesota, on Aug. 10, 1928, to Frank and Mina (Bassett) Mayzlik. He graduated from Austin High School in 1946. On Sept. 20, 1947, Eldred was united in marriage to Donna Mae Louise Carlson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church Parsonage in Austin. The couple made their home in Austin and was blessed with five children. He worked in the maintenance department at Hormel Foods in Austin, retiring after almost 42 years of service. Quality Pork. He retired from Regner’s on May 20, 1994, to enjoy buying and selling antiques, collectibles and gardening. Eldred will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Eldred’s memory are his children, Marilyn (Brian) Larson of Dover, Delaware, Janice (Stan) Frank of Medford, Minnesota, and James Mayzlik of Mololla, Oregon; grandchildren, Alan (Holly) Frank, Kathleen (Joshua) Fedder, Christopher Larson, Benjamin (Christine) Larson and Patrick Larson; and twin sister, Mildred Baley of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mina Mayzlik; wife, Donna Mayzlik, in 1999; sons, Larry Mayzlik and David Mayzlik; and brothers, Robert, Russell, Chester, Clifford, Donald, and Leslie.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Pastor Dennis Tamke officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
