Gold Cross Ambulance Service took two women to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin for non-life threatening injuries after a vehicle accident on Tuesday evening.

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, police were called at 8:39 p.m. on Tuesday regarding an accident at the intersection of First Avenue and Eighth Street Northwest. A 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Maria Martinez, 35, of Austin, was headed south on Eighth Street, while a 2002 Infiniti, driven by Kayli Gonzalez Perez, 18, of Austin, was heading east on First Avenue. Both entered the intersection and collided.

Perez told police that she had stopped at the intersection, but could not see the Chrysler because parked cars blocked her line of vision; however, Martinez told police Perez did not stop, according to Krueger.

Martinez and her passenger, Leticia Diaz, 56, of Laredo, Texas, were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.

Krueger said Martinez was cited for driving after revocation of her license.
